The purpose of the Treasure Box Program is to create hand-painted “treasure boxes” for youth who are receiving care in hospitals. During the course of the year, Treasure Boxes are delivered to Shriner’s Hospitals and are given to children who are experiencing extended stays due to serious illnesses. These young patients are often given small gifts to divert their attention from their pain. Treasure Boxes are containers that can be used at the hospital to store toys and little personal belongings to later take home. Decorative artists create each box with great love and sincere wishes to ease the pain of the hospitalized child.
